The Global Invasive Species Information Network (GISIN) was formed to provide a platform for sharing invasive species information at a global level, via the Internet and other digital means. Why should invasive alien species data providers share their data directly through GISIN? GISIN3 Data Standards Workshop Summary is now available for download. Held at Elmira College in New York, on 25-30 July 2009, the workshop provided the basis for a prototype system, to be made available online at http://www.gisin.org:
The GISIN web site is administered by the National Institute of Invasive Species Science of the U.S. Geological Survey Fort Collins Science Center; hosted at Colorado State University's Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory; and maintained by, and with financial support from, the U.S. National Biological Information Infrastructure. http://www.gisin.org Last updated: January 8, 2010
